Celexa - Turklet - 07-01-2009

I started taking Celexa (then the generic, citalopram) after I had to get off Paxil, which was making me too tired. It was recommended because it had a better side-effect profile than Paxil. Once I got the dose right, I did find that it caused less-severe side effects, but eventually, like other SSRIs, it too took away my energy. It has been extremely effective at fighting depression, and with the addition of Wellbutrin, the Celexa side effects have lessened. However, if my depression could be handled without the celexa, I'd prefer to be off it.

Percocet 10/650 - meggers077 - 07-01-2009

I had to take oxycodone after I had a breast augmentation in 2001. I cannot tell you how much pain I was feeling right after the surgery. It was as if an elephant sat on my chest and kept getting heavier. The dr. gave me my prescription and let me go. However, the pharmacy didn't open for 2 more hours. I thought I was going to die. So, my girlfriend drove me home and stayed with me. I fell asleep and when the pharmacy opened, we went to get my prescription filled. I made sure to go with her even though I was in agonizing pain. I popped two of those in my mouth and not even 20 minutes later, I was as good as new. This medicine was my miracle in a bottle. Even though I felt a bit woozy, it made me all better.

Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo - meggers077 - 07-01-2009

I had tried almost every birth control that is out there. Ortho Tri Cyclin -Lo was one of the first ones I had ever tried. I was extremely worried at a young age of getting pregnant because it happened to my mother at 16. So, I tried it out. Well, it worked perfectly for a few months, and then all of a sudden I got extremely depressed. I was having terrible mood swings, suicidal thoughts, and strange visions in my head. Of course, my mom didn't know I was taking birth control so, I told my friend's mom about it. She came with me to see the Dr. and they put me on something else to try and stop the depression. Needless to say, I am now 26 and I no longer use birth control. I just cannot take it without getting messed up from it.

Chantix - meggers077 - 07-01-2009

I began taking Chantix for smoking cessation a few months ago. I had heard a lot of really great things about it. I asked my Dr. specifically however, if people who were prone to depression should be taking it. My Dr. said that it would be fine. I heard a few horror stories about Chantix. Well, I was one of them. I thought I wanted to kill myself and even other people around me. My fiancee recognized my crazed behavior and immediately took me to the local ER. Of course, they asked him my meds and the recognized right away why I was having a psychotic episode. It was the Chantix.....I stopped taking it immediately, and stopped smoking without it as well.

Celebrex - meggers077 - 07-01-2009

I started taking celebrex because my Dr. believed I had some arthritis in my spine. I also had some inflammation going into my knee. I took the celebrex as prescribed for 3 months, however, the pain only grew worse. I was also experiencing terrible headaches and nausea from this medicine. As far as my pain went, it did nothing for it as well. Celebrex was not for me....

Lipitor - mckennaduncan - 07-01-2009

I was esed for cholesterol in my mid 30s and found that it was higher than normal. I was able to control it with diet and exercise for several years. The doctor prescribed Lipitor when diet and exercise was no longer enough. I've taken it ever since and have been able to maintain good choleserol levels.

I've changed doctors a few times and questioned whether another medication may be better and all doctors have recommended Lipitor. I've had no side effects, and can enjoy an occasional hamburger without guilt.

Protonix - mamapolarbare - 07-01-2009

After suffering for several years with increasing pain from the heartburn, I finally went to the doctor who said it was GERD and prescribed protonix. All I can say is WOW! The very first day that I took it, all my pain was gone! If I had known that something this good was around, I would have gone to the doctor sooner. I never suffered from any side effects unless you count relief as one! Due to insurance changes, I no longer take protonix, but would gladly go back to it if I could.

Amoxicillinan - Jswierko - 07-01-2009

I have been taking amoxicillin for about a week now. It had been subscribed to me about going to the doctors and complaining about a head ache and sore throat. I found out that I had strep throat and this was the prescription that my doctor gave to me.
My prescription required me to take 3 capsules a day, and after my second pill I was immediately feeling better. Now that I only have two days of the medicine left I feel wonderful and 100% back to normal!

Protonix - Steve - 07-01-2009

After years of suffering from heart burn, taking antacids and other over the counter medications my doctor suggested Protonix as a logical way to control my stomach acid and stop my GERD symptoms. One pill each morning worked like a charm. I could eat anything especially my favorites like pizza and Mexican food with no side effects. This medication changed my life, allowing me to enjoy dining out and still being able to sleep at night. I have had no side effects and no issues when combined with other medication. I am sold on this product.

Vicodin - Andea - 07-01-2009

This medication controlled pain effectively from a C-section. I actually found I was fine with only half the dosage initially prescribed. It did not make me feel "drugged," but relieved my pain enough that I could care for my newborn infant.

There were two negatives, which were somewhat related. For one, the pills made me extremely nauseous. Also, they messed up my digestive system (constipation) so severely that I had to stop taking them.

Loestrin - Ima - 07-01-2009

After having my baby my doctor prescribed me Loestrin. At first everything was okay until the ninth day when my body started reacting to it.I started having really heavy bleeding.I heard that was normal so I waited it out.Unfortunately in my case I took it up until the third pack. And I was still bleeding. The DR told me the hormones were not strong enough. So she switched me to something stronger. Unfortunately I also experinced yeast infections right around the time my period was due.
On the positive note, my skin was so clear. It really cleared up my skin from major break outs throughout my pregnancy. I really think everyone should stay on the medication at least three months to see if the symptoms get better.

Pamelor - Ima - 07-01-2009

I had very severe migraines all throughout my pregnancy. After I had my baby I was referred to a Neurologist. She prescribed me Pamelor. This medication has really helped me a lot.At first I was having severe pain on a daily basis. After the first week taking the medicine. My migraines totally disappeared. And top of all that my mood was more better.
Unfortunately the downsides of is constipation. While taking this medication it is very important to drink lots of water and have a good source of fiber.I had to take stool softeners to help me out in the beginning. This is a very good medication that removed the problems with my migraines and helped my mood a little bit.
