My dermatologist prescribed Protopic for my mild psoriasis. I've used it intermittently (that is, once every few weeks) for a couple of years now. It's quite good at clearing up my small areas of plaque psoriasis, which generally manifest themselves on my nose, behind my ears and on my temples, with the occasional errant guttate psoriasis spot popping up on my chest or back.
It does generally take at least a day or two to work, and upon immediate application it can make the affected areas look worse--kind of a rebound effect, but that goes away after a few hours.
I subtracted one star, however, because it's so greasy--it's a petroleum-based ointment, and if you apply it too heavily it can make you appear shiny or oily. Other than that, it's been a godsend, and I've been very pleased with its effectiveness.

I used protopic in an attempt to address eczema issues. However, I became quite ill with respitory sickness while using it and stopped immediately. Not sure if I became ill because the medicine compromised my immune system or if it was just coincidence. My only suggestion would be to try it when you are feeling rested and healthy. I may try it again another time.
