This stuff is absolutely amazing as a migraine preventative. I still get the occasional headache, but haven't had any in the past six months that impaired functioning at all. I used to get hemiplegic migraines about 2-3 times per month, and I was instructed to go to the ER each time and get IV drugs immediately. Also used to get classic migraines about half of the days out of the month where I was nauseated, dizzy, couldn't think right. This stuff is completely awesome.

After under-going a 3-step J-Pouch surgery, I suffered from chronic diarrhea, frequent urgency to use the restroom, I was 40 pounds underweight, & extremely anxious about everything. My doctor decided to be creative and prescribed this for me because it has just recently been used for patients with inflammatory bowel disease & IBS. The drug's side-effects include constipation, weight gain, and decreased urgency to use the bathroom. While this drug, hasn't completely relieved my urgency and diarrhea, it has made somewhat of a difference. Additionally, since I began taking the drug, it has been much easier for me to put on some weight and maintain a healthy weight. And the added bonus has been that the drug has slightly decreased my anxiety.

I have been dealing with depression since I was 15 years old. My depression wasn't severe but I would have trouble sleeping or I would sleep all the time and never feel rested. I obsessed about what tasks I needed to complete but was unable to figure out where to start. I tried numerous antidepressants and had side effects and no improvement in energy level, restlessness or obsessive thoughts. Since taking this minimal dose of elavil that has all changed. I am more organized and am happy. I am able to complete tasks and not worry over every little thing I didn't get accomplished. The only side effect I have had is weight gain. I haven't gained a substantial amount of weight but it is enough that I have noticed. I don't mind though, I can eat healthier and excercise. A few extra pounds is worth feeling normal.
