I've taken many different antidepressants in my search for one that helped with my depression and anxiety and Cymbalta has really helped. The only side affect I've noticed is increased sweating. It has been particularly effective in lessening my anxiety.

When I began treatment with Cymbalta, I felt happy and clear for the first time in years. That changed quickly however as the side effects began to increase. I had a strange ringing in my ears that would not go away, and a strange sensation of buzzing and spinning in my head around the time I was supposed to take my next dose. Unfortunately these symptoms did not go away as my doctor said they would. They increased as a matter of fact, and my friends began to complain that I was slowly becoming a zombie. I didn't care about anything and slept for most of the day. I only stayed awake long enough to attend work. All of my household chores fell by the wayside and I stopped participating in life. I decided to stop taking Cymbalta, and my doctor prescribed a plan to ween me off the drug. I had to take another anti-depressant to lessen the withdrawal effects. I would not recommend this medication to anyone. Please consider other alternatives before subjecting yourself to this medication.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and my doctor put me on Cymbalta, which was a good first guess about how to deal with it. Unfortunately, for me, this drug did not do anything. I know other people who have been helped by it, so it's probably a unique feature of my body chemistry that kept it from doing anything for me.

Cymbalta has helped me manage my OCD and depression. I am able to function without having breakdowns.

I was prescribed Cymbalta when I had severe, unexplained back pain that was not manageable by OTC pain meds. I do not liking taking meds unless necessary, but agreed to try Cymbalta since nothing else worked.

Unless prescribed an antibiotic, I will normally start out taking half or less the recommended dosage. With the Cymbalta, I took half of what was prescribed and it knocked me out within minutes! It did relieve my pain, but I was unable to function normally at all.

I was warned against Cymbalta by a friend, and the day my Doctor decided to prescribe it to me, I cringed. I decided to listen to my doctor and take it, and I had nothing but troubles ever since. I constantly had headaches, and when I finally stopped taking it I would have strange nightmares. I am grateful to have found a new medication. I was using cymbalta to treat depression.

A couple of years ago my health insurance plan stopped covering Effexor XR for my depression so my physician suggested Cymbalta. It took several months of adjusting dosage to find a fit. I use 90 mg of Cymbalta with 75 mg Welbutrin now. I find that this combination has produced much better results than any other antidepressant or combination of antidepressant medications that I have tried.
Using Cymbalta with Welbutrin finally ended my suicidal ideas for the first time in six years. I am able to work full time as a professional educator again. I have energy and my mind can focus and problem solve.
I would recommend trying Cymbalta if your physician suggests it. Please be aware that it may take a while to see results so please don't give up.

About Three years ago I realized all I wanted to do was stay in my bed and never get up. Now having five children and a full time job, this was not possible. I also have been in the medical profession for over 18 years and have work in mental health, so I knew this was not a good sign especially since I was already being treated for anxiety disorder. So I called my doctor and she told me about this newer medication that treated both anxiety and depression because she agreed with me that
it looked like I was depressed now as well as having the anxiety. She told me this medication was Cymbalta and that it had been reported to her through other patients that this medicine started to for within a week to two. I said ok, I up for not laying in the bed all day and feeling like crap. Within a week I started feeling better, I actually wanted to get out of bed and be around other people. I wanted to be with my children and their friends, I wanted to get out there in the world and live. Since then four more of my family members have started using Cymbalta and they tell me they are very pleased with it as well. Cymbalta has made such a difference in my life. I had none of the side effects that they said could happen,I am so happy now and I Will never change to another medication if I can help it.

I had been battling with minor depression symptoms for many years. A few years ago I decided all the crying for no apparent reason and the laziness needed to change. I talked to my doctor and asked her to prescribe something to make me feel normal again.

I cannot tell you the difference Cymbalta has made in my life. I no longer cry at the drop of a hat, mood swings are nonexistent, and I no longer make excuses to stay home instead of going out with friends or family. As a matter of fact, many family members and friends have commented on how much happier I seem and that they had been worried about me.

I did experience a little dizziness when first starting to take Cymbalta. Luckily it ceased after the first week.

I highly recommend Cymbalta for treating depression. It has literally changed my life for the better.
